From an empty airplane hanger to a 1940s victory party; from a museum parking lot to an out-this-world astronomical experience; and from a 54,000 square-foot warehouse to Lima’s largest art gallery, the Lima Memorial Foundation is known for transforming spaces and providing unique experiences for our guests who travel far and wide to attend our annual Journey gala. We take great pride in having guests experience the region’s premier event within one of the many hidden gems located within our region.

This year, Lima Memorial Foundation has chosen to spotlight an undeveloped portion of the Lima Mall. In a space full of creative opportunity, our gala will take guests on a journey from walking the red carpet to the bright lights of Hollywood. Through the magic of movies, attendees will experience elegance, romance and glamor as we journey backstage for a look at how movies have touched our lives.

More importantly, this gala inspires hundreds of individuals to come together for a common cause. We believe our community deserves access to world-class health care and the tools to live a healthy lifestyle. We are committed to providing comprehensive health services and improving the quality of life in our community.

The real satisfaction comes from the thousands of lives we transform by bringing so many people together for a common cause. By building relationships and forging friendships, the Lima Memorial Foundation transforms lives by fulfilling a unique funding priority to advance the health of our community. This year, all funding will support transforming the way care is delivered for patients who require intense rehab following a stroke, trauma, major injury or debilitating illness.

“The Lima Mall is honored to be hosting Lima Memorial’s 2018 Journey to the Red Carpet,” states Chris Garlock, General Manager of Lima Mall & Lima Center. “One of our goals is to show how the Lima Mall is an essential part of the community and can serve other functions other than the traditional retail aspect. Journey serves as a shining example of what the Lima Mall can do within the community.”

The Lima Mall opened in 1965. Originally 304,500 square feet, it was one of the first regional centers built by Edward J. DeBartolo, Sr. Today, the Lima Mall is owned Washington Prime Group, occupies 743,000 square feet and is anchored by JCPenney and Macy's.

The Lima Mall is Allen County’s premier shopping destination. The town center is home to more than 60 national and local retail, dining and entertainment options, as well as numerous events and activities throughout the year. A dynamic offering of things to do along with things to buy keeps guests engaged and returning often.
